Godfrey - Roarin' Lead (1936) - The curious thing for me was the talent show put
on by the orphans. I was unable to discover how old Kathy and Ted Frye were at the
time, but they appear to be around 12. How on earth did the apache dance get past
the 1937 censors?

Frank - "Roarin' Lead" is a good Three Mesquiteers piece - action, ridin', and even
a kiddie vaudeville show. The co-producer was Sol C. Siegel who went on to produce
such epics as "Bridge on the River Kwai." I met his wife about 25 years ago when
she was in her 80s. She gave me a picture of herself when she was a gorgeous 30 or
so. In the pic with her is Lauren Bacall and her post Bogart husband, Jason Robards.
